Edward Henderson Douglas was born October 19, 1930 at Charleston, Franklin Co., Ar. to
John Randall & Victoria McCrea Douglas. December 7, 1940 Edward
married Exene Margie Hutchins, both residing at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar.
His second wife was Bertha Louise Pierce Mcguire. They were
married in Kern California October 19, 1963. It was her second marriage also.
In 1967 they moved back to Arkansas.
February 16, 1942 Ed registered for the miitary draft at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.
He enlisted in the US Army September 29, 1942 and served until October 8, 1945.
His rank at discharge was Tec 5. Nothing more is found about his service.
Edward Henderson Douglas passed away March 29, 2003. His burial was in
the Measles Cemetery, Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar.

Edward H. Douglas, 82, of Lavaca died Saturday, March 29, 2003, in Fort Smith.
He was born Oct. 19, 1920. He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the
VFW, DAV and American Legion, the First Baptist Church in Lavaca and a retired
mechanic for Sebastian County.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Lavaca First Baptist Church with burial at
Measles Cemetery in Lavaca under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha; two stepdaughters, Angie Jones of Fort
Smith and Louise Lovell of Cedarville; two stepsons, Bill Pierce of Arizona
and Roger Pierce of Fort Smith; two sisters, Johnnie Williams and Joy Birchfield,
both of Lavaca; a brother, James Douglas of Roland; 13 grandchildren and
24 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mac and Randy Green, Johnny and Steve Helms, Kenny
Hobbs and Jack Tate. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Lavaca First
Baptist Church.
